In this black and white photo, there are burnt/dead branches surrounding a cut tree trunk that doesn’t stand any taller then a foot in a half. There is a foggy back ground that fades away in a distance. On the cut down trunk there is a man standing on sticks. The sticks are about 6 ft fall. They are attached to the bottom of the man’s feet. The man is in a black suit with a white undershirt. Attached to his back are broken branches. They are shaped somewhat like wings. But they aren’t perfect wings.I think maybe that the man on the cut down tree trunk may be trying to jump down. He looks as if he’s going to fly. He’s also in the middle of no where. All the trees seem to be cut down and or burned. It’s foggy in the back ground but the man is clear to see. There are only about 3 thick trunks.
I think this artist may want something to happen that really can’t it’s not possible to fly with thin branches, or branches at all. He is surrounded by emptiness, so in life he may be empty. He may feel like there’s nothing or no one to be there for him when he needs them. Trying to do the impossible may be interesting to the artist. He is standing on two sticks which may be interpreted as if he makes the wrong move they will break which his life or something in it can to wrong if he makes a mistake. The foggy back ground may say that artist isn’t clear about decisions. This is also connecting with making a wrong decision and everything going wrong. By him trying to fly with branches on his back substituted for wings, may be interpreted as he’s making risky chances, and some may not even be worth taking.
I find this photograph interesting to look at because there can be so many interpretations. It was creative for the artist to create wings out of branches. The foggy back ground in my opinion is the perfect back ground for this kind of photo. It represents confusion and unclear matters. I think the cut down trees were a good idea also because it lets people know that he was alone and nothing was there with him.

You have some very interesting ideas beginning to percalate here. When interpreting, don't feel obligated to give us all the mights and maybe's. We understand that what you say is YOUR opinion. So choose what it says to you, and interpret it as such: i.e. "The man on the tree trunk IS trying to jump down. He WANTS to fly..." instead of, "the man on the tree trunk MAY BE trying to jump down. He looks AS IF HE's going to fly"
I love the way you wrote your critique. I agree with what you wrote...I like when you said, "There is a foggy background that fades away in a distance...NICE:D
Overall Excellent!
